Accessibility

Franklin’s Key is performed at the historic Plays & Players Theatre, located at 1714 Delancey Place in Center City. For each of our productions, we offer the following accommodations and resources. If you have any questions about the information listed here, please contact our Box Office at (267) 494-1919 or boxoffice@pigiron.org.

There are wheelchair accessible and companion seats held for each performance. If you’d like to attend, please contact our box office at (267) 494-1919 or boxoffice@pigiron.org. to purchase the seats. If you use a larger, motorized wheelchair, please contact our box office to discuss the best seating options.

While we have created accessible space within the theatre proper, the restrooms are located on the Lower Level of Plays & Players and are unfortunately not accessible. There is a ramp to access the lobby from the sidewalk and there are no stairs into the theatre proper.

Entrances, Ramps & Stairs
There are two main doors into the Plays & Players Theatre lobby from the street. One door has one stair, the other has a ramp. There are no stairs into the Orchestra Level of the theatre. The Orchestra Level is raked, meaning the rows are higher the further back you go. There are stair-free paths into the theatre from the lobby via aisles that run down the center of the theatre and on the far-left and far-right sides.

  • Rows B thru G (there is no row A) have no stairs to access the row.

  • Rows H thru M have one stair.

  • Row N has two stairs.

  • Row O (the last row of the orchestra) has three stairs.

  • Fewer seats sold to make more space available throughout the theatre and reduce crowd-size

Audio Devices & T-Coil Loops

Patrons can borrow the following equipment for free:

  • Audio headsets: Earpiece and battery packs with volume control that amplify the performance.

  • T-coil “induction” loops: Worn around the neck, these devices transmit performance audio directly into hearing aids and cochlear implants that have a “T” (for telecoil) setting.

We provide these devices for all performances on a first come, first served basis, with no reservations required. Please pick them up at the Box Office window.

We will offer Open Captioning for the 2pm performance on Saturday, June 28th. Click here to buy tickets for this performance.

During Open Caption (OC) Performances, the actors’ lines appear on a small LED screen near the stage as they speak. OC benefits patrons who are deaf or hard of hearing and helps to ensure that all patrons can fully enjoy the performance.
